As CEO and founder of Snapper Films, Juha Wuolijoki is an award-winning Scandinavian director and producer. He has worked with international industry key players such as producers Steve Richards and Ben Barenholtz, as well as directed globally known actors such as John Turturro, Noah Emmerich and Michael Badalucco.
Wuolijoki develops and produces projects through his company Snapper Films. His latest Scandinavian feature "Hella W" opened theatrically in January 2011 to the top of the local box office. His family feature "Christmas Story" was the top-grossing Finnish film of 2007 and has spread wider than any other Finnish live-action feature. The award-winning film has sold to 120 countries with theatrical releases in several territories including Spain, China, Canada, Greece, Poland, Sweden and Norway.
The English-language dub of "Christmas Story," directed by Wuolijoki, features the voices of Golden Globe nominated John Turturro ("Oh Brother Where Art Thou,"
"Transformers," "Barton Fink") and Noah Emmerich ("Fair Game," "The Truman Show"). "Christmas Story" has been released on DVD in the U.S. by Lightning Entertainment (Anchor Bay Entertainment) and has sold more than 100,000 units.
Joseph Scarpinito | Writer/ Producer
Joseph Scarpinito is an American entrepreneur, actor, film producer, and President of Scarpe Diem Productions. He is a champion for the arts and has been instrumental in bringing quality works and exhibits to lower Manhattan. He recently opened the Tachi Gallery which has displayed the works of Sasson Soffer and Paul Klee, and continues to be a showcase for new and established artists. He was also an executive producer on Michael Imperioli directorial debut "The Hungry Ghosts" that opened the 2009 International Rotterdam Film Festival.
His newest venture, Scarpe Diem Productions, focuses on producing and creating quality feature films and original television and web series. In addition to a slate of
show's for it's soon to be released web channel Red Fish on Fire, it will be producing the feature film "Zarra's Law" written by Scarpinito and Charles Kipps, directed by Juha Wuolijoki and starring Tony Sirico. The film is set for a 2013 release.
Scarpinito can also be seen in critically acclaimed shows like "The Sopranos" and "Third Watch".
Melissa B. Miller | Co-Producer / Line Producer
Melissa started her career at the talent management company 3 Arts Entertainment, which led her to a position with the prolific casting director Ellen Lewis. She co- wrote and produced several award winning shorts including "The Tested", which took home "Best of Fest" at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, making it eligible for an Academy Award nomination. "The Tested" also made its television broadcast debut on BET last year.
She recently wrapped production on the feature length version of "The Tested" starring Aunjanue Ellis, Armando Riesco, and Frank Vincent which was accepted to the prestigious IFP Independent Filmmaker Lab and Emerging Narratives at IFP Film Week, won the Grand Jury Prize at the American Black Film Festival, and had it's New York City premiere at BamCinematek in February. The film, currently repped by Elephant Eye Films expects a 2012 release.
